Glass Delivery Driver

Job Description

If you have experience as a Driver, or have experience working with glass, or if you're looking for an exciting career opportunity, this may be the job for you!   We offer a 401k retirement plan, vacation pay, and above-average compensation.  Reporting directly to the Vice President of Interstate Glass, the Driver is responsible for safely operating a truck, loading materials and delivering materials to cliental. This position serves as the last point of contact to glass companies throughout Connecticut. This position requires exceptional communication, the ability to lift (up to 75lbs) and move delicate glass with the assistance of another employee.

Responsibilities:


  • Safely operate a glass truck
  • Properly load and unload delicate materials
  • Log in and out of scheduled deliveries to accurately track time
  • Report any issues or incidents to the office
  • Inspect the truck before and after each trip
  • Account for all materials delivered
  • Clean the truck after deliveries are completed
  • Make sure that the gas tank of the truck is always full before leaving the shop
  • Must check in with the office at the end of each day.


Qualifications:


  • A valid driver’s license 
  • At least 5 years driving experience with a clean record
  • Ability work well as a team
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Friendly attitude
  • Ability to lift and move delicate glass sheets up to 75lbs with the help of another employee
  • Successfully pass a drug screening and criminal background check


  

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Glass Stock Sheet Delivery Experience
  • Knowledge of glass or experience in a construction field
